本品は、新たに仕上げられた刻印で最初期に打たれた、いわゆる「ファーストストライク」と考えられる特別な一枚です。このプルーフ貨を思わせる強い鏡面光沢は、最初に打たれた約20枚程度にしか見られないとされています。

龍の鱗は潰れることなく、一枚一枚が鋭く鮮明に立ち上がっています。フィールドも指先が映り込むほど深い反射を見せます。

力強い打刻と美しい鏡面を兼ね備えた、通常の未使用貨とは明らかに異なる旧20円金貨です。
